Since we have to remember so many passwords nowadays, it’s nice when you don’t have to. If you have a PC with Windows 10 on it and also a Samsung device, you are one of the lucky ones who can unlock his computer without a password. This is how you get it done with Samsung Flow.
Windows 10, Samsung device and Samsung Flow are the secret ingredients
To ensure that everything runs smoothly, your computer must run on Windows 10. But you do need the latest Creators update. You have undoubtedly been bothered endlessly lately with having to set your settings and preferences for the update. Check if you have the update, but it is probably already installed automatically.
Your Samsung device serves as a key to unlock your PC. For this your device must run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow or higher. If you have a fairly new device, you’re probably good anyway. Incidentally, you can also use a tablet, which may not run on Marshmallow. With tablets you always need at least Android 7.0 Nougat.
The magic component that connects your PC and Samsung handset is the Samsung Flow app. You can actually use this app from February to unlock your computer, but it had to be a Samsung computer. Fortunately, Samsung has let go of this and all PCs can happily participate in unlocking via your fingerprint. Before you can start connecting the two devices, you must install the Samsung Flow app on both your PC and your smartphone.
Everything is connected
Once you have installed the app, it is time to connect between your PC and smartphone. Enables Bluetooth on both devices for this. Then select the Samsung device that you want to connect on your PC. After this you confirm this connection on both your PC and smartphone and click on the register button. If you have not yet registered a fingerprint on your phone, you must do so now. If you had already done this, it does not have to happen again. You can possibly register an extra finger. All you have to do now is choose “ok” and try it out right away.
Samsung Flow does more than just unlocking
If you have already installed the Samsung Flow app, you can also use the other functions. This way, the app can synchronize your notifications and you can easily transfer files back and forth between the two devices. Still nice that you have not installed an app for just one function
